Session 1: Tools for Making Investment Decisions: Economic Update and Finance Officers’ Feud This session will review recent economic and capital markets developments. We will discuss how local government investments may be affected by economic events such as: changing inflation, geopolitical events, and the actions of the Federal Reserve. In a fun, interactive game, we will review a broad spectrum of terms and topics that finance and treasury management professionals are dealing with on a daily basis. Make sure you come ready to play! 2: Navigating Fiscal Waters: Best Practices for Local Government Investment Pools (LGIPs)   Given the changing interest rate environment, the importance of LGIPs has grown as public investors depend on them more than ever. This session will cover the critical components of an LGIP, including liquidity standards, fact sheets, and credit ratings, as well as review best practices for pools. Session 3: Public Records in the Sunshine This session will cover the responsibilities of public records custodians pursuant to Art. I, Sec. 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes.  This will include matters related to requests for documents, obligations of public records custodians, costs for fulfilling such requests, and the protection of confidential and exempt information, and suggested best practices.
